The Stockport store donates technology to support the local community

A neighborhood company donated vital digital equipment to support The Hideaway charity in Manchester.

Digital ID, ID card and access control experts based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, donated the equipment to Trafford-based charity The Hideaway.

The Hideaway is a non-profit organization that provides support to families and local residents through its educational play facility and café.

When the pandemic hit the charity, it turned and began acting as The Hope Center. It acted as a response center for the community, providing the area with thousands of food packages, hot meals, packed lunches, and wellbeing calls.

For the next several months, The Hideaway will be running their own store to ensure everyone has fair access to affordable groceries

The shop is run on a membership scheme model and Digital ID donated an ID card printer and a lifetime support to help The Hideaway expand their service and continue their fantastic work in the community.

Stephen Dodd, Digital ID Commercial Director, said, “It’s been a busy year for everyone and we’re always excited to look into topics like The Hideaway.

“You do a fantastic job of helping those who need it most and we are excited to play even a small role in such a company.

“We hope that your new shop will be a great success and that it will be of great use to the local community at such a difficult time.”

Stephen added that he believes technology can help his company transition to a post-Covid world.

“When we move into a post-Covid world, there will be many phases where our technology and products can help make this transition a little smoother,” he said.

“Whether it’s our ID card printing for the care industry, festival wristbands for the events sector, or access control for retreating to the office – all of these will be of crucial importance for the reopening of the world in the coming months.”
