Stockport Children’s Fund announces the return of the annual golf day

A children’s charity has announced the return of their annual golf day next month.

Seashell Trust, a charity serving children and youth with complex learning disabilities, disabilities and additional communication based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, Greater Manchester, will host the event on Tuesday June 22nd.

It’s the first live event the charity has hosted since the pandemic began.

The day held at Wilmslow Golf Club has been a fixture on the charity’s calendar for 25 years but has been postponed from its original date last September.

The competition attracts more than 30 teams competing for the Sue Holman Memorial Trophy.

Sue was a past chairman at Seashell and loved golf, so the event is a way to celebrate all that she has done for the charity.

The charity says they had a difficult year financially due to the pandemic, as they had to cancel fundraising drives or put them online.

Dominic Tinner, Fundraiser Manager at Seashell said, “We’re so grateful to be able to run fundraisers again so we can fill some of the void left by fundraiser cancellations and cost increases.

“We really hope that the local community will stay behind us and take the chance to get back to something normal by coming to our golf day this June.”

Teams of four cost £ 450 including hot snacks on arrival, halfway house and post-round BBQ.

You can also sponsor a hole from £ 250.
