COLCHESTER United were beaten 1-0 at Stockport County, in their latest League Two match.
A goal from substitute Kyle Wootton sealed the hosts victory, at Edgeley Park.
Colchester fans have their say on their side’s defeat.

That was woeful from the first minute to the last. 2 wingers on the bench but goes for clampin left wing. How that man thinks chilvers can play in that position he was in today is beyond me. He should be playing much higher up the pitch. 0 shots and 27% possession says everything

For all the praises Browny got for getting it tactically right on Tuesday he got it completely wrong today; sitting back for 100 minutes and not having an attack to speak of just inviting pressure. A better team would have thrashed us. Worrying start to the league season so far.

Continuation of last season, and the season before that. A poor squad of players and a very boring style of play from Wayne Brown.
si
Gutless in attack. No sense of determination to push forward at all.
David Warren
Northern Exile so first chance to see them this season. Very poor and similar to last season. NO midfield to speak of – hoofball to nowhere and nobody and no urgency in anything. Slower and less hungry than all the Stockport players. Eastwood only bright spot!
Jason Hull
Clearances should be to someone, but panicked kicks. Tom Eastman was immense, even if he was beaten for the goal. Their fitness seems better. We have no 1-2 passing. We were a player short in midfield; they passed between the lines incredibly easily. Not second winning and third balls. long ball to right not working; we don’t have the size. Noubs covered by 3 on throw-ins, but no other outlet. Press not organized. Must chase in packs. Can’t be one person.

It seems that Brown has absolutely no idea of what his best starting line up is? We already look all out of ideas and our best player, Dallison, is on the bench? Early days but it just has a familiar air of the last 2 seasons.

You know you’re in trouble if you’re relying on luck to get something. Right tactics on Tuesday and we got away with it, but today was incredibly poor. We came for a draw and as soon as they took the lead we had no plan
Danny
We should be going to places like this and picking up 3 points , not playing for a 0-0 draw if we want promotion!
Danny Binks
Very poor and really worrying where this is going to end. There was no belief shown to demonstrate we felt we were anywhere near as good as them and to be honest some players proved they shouldn’t be in this league. We need to stop playing these guys and give others a chance
Jason Hull
Brown didn’t go to his bench early or often enough. We aren’t good enough in the air, bar Akinde, to play the aerial style we play. Is that enough? I also have no doubt that a successful US college soccer (I know…football, but you don’t want Nick Saban) coach could come in, and, if he/she could win over the locker room, improve the quality of play. Could probably get said person for same wages.

Just got back from the long drive home (5hrs) really negative play today, all we are doing is playing long balls and winning nothing. Need to improve but can see a very long hard season ahead. Onwards and upwards to Tuesday, up the U’s.
Andy Toham
Brown and Cowling please explain no shots on target, one corner no possession. That is totally crap and you know it. Col U fans who travel deserve a performance. Unbelievable
hatch
Terrible performance. We don’t press, we don’t attack, attackers we’re very lazy. To defensive minded and invited Stockport to attack
microconuts
This is an utter embarrassment. Neither Ipswich nor Stockport are a premiership team. If this is what we have to endure again then sorry Robbie, you’re going to get it
David Clayton
Desperate to watch. If the tactics are that of an inferior team just hoping to get a point that’s what transmits to the players. No team in league 2 are so intimate that attacking is not an option. Negativity cost us the win against Carlisle last week & it frankly embarrassed us this week. Hannant does try but he just doesn’t have the quality to be in the team. Anyone who’s watched him knows Frank isn’t a striker, so why leave a target man on the bench for 70 minutes? The narrative that Ipswich was some sort of tactical masterclass is dangerous; it was a great win but we were lucky. Fine for a cup game against a higher ranked team, but not the basis for a league campaign. No change from last season. A far weaker squad. We’re in big trouble.

Shocking performance!

Time wasting from the start! Let’s start a game and attack the opposition.
