The Town Hall will be lit up in purple to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee from 2nd – 5th June. The council will also be flying the official Jubilee flag above the town hall from 3rd – 5th, with the Union Jack being flown to celebrate the coronation.

To commemorate the Platinum Jubilee, we will be continuing to support the Queen’s Green Canopy tree planting initiative. The Mayor will plant a tree at the town hall, and a tree will be provided to every school in the borough. This will take place in November 2022 to coincide with the best time to plant new trees. Each tree will be provided with a commemorative plaque marking the Jubilee.

It should be a fantastic occasion, and a chance to be part of some real history being made across the world, the country and in Stockport. Please do keep an eye on our news pages for more upcoming information about specific events.
