Murder investigation opened after man dies in Stockport after being stabbed by a knife

A murder investigation is underway after a man is stabbed in Stockport by a knife.

Police were called on Friday, December 17, just after 6:30 am at Foliage Crescent in Brinnington for reports of a “altercation”.

Dylan Towers, 35, of Stockport, was found with stab wounds, GMP confirmed.

Mr Towers has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he has been treated for the past two weeks.

Unfortunately, however, he died on December 29th from his injuries.

An autopsy is expected to be held today (December 31st) to determine the cause of Mr. Towers’ death.

GMP’s Major Incident Team, Detective Chief Inspector Ben Cottam, said, “This is a tragic incident in which a man lost his life and is now being treated as murder.”

Liam Fosbrook of Sheen Gardens, Wythenshawe, Manchester, has been charged with Section 18 assault and will appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on January 21, 2022.
