This week, a women-only strength and wellbeing studio opened in Stockport, providing a safe and comfortable space for women of all ages, shapes and sizes.
Winners Studio on Stockport Road in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, opened on Monday April 12th.
Currently, courses can only be held outdoors and access to facilities such as a gym can be granted. The full start will be in mid-May when the indoor fitness classes can return as usual.
Chloe Blair, a personal trainer, runs the studio and hopes to offer a place where women don’t feel judged and a place where they can get advice on how to get mentally and physically strong.
She said, “As a personal trainer, I recognize that the fitness industry is marginalizing many women who actually need them. Gyms can be intimidating for many women, and access to mental health resources can be extremely expensive for many.
“Social media and brands benefit from expensive quick fixes, pills and tablets that can help you lose weight. However, none of these help women realize that it is hard work, commitment, and giving up never to give up to achieve your goals.
“It’s about spiritual and physical dedication and about building your confidence and strength from within.”

A number of courses, including strength training, yoga, relaxation, flexibility, and core, are taught by qualified professionals from the industry.
Chloe added that she’s also starting classes like mindfulness, hypnotherapy, and other life-affirming workshops, as well as conversations on how to deal with fear and gain confidence.
She said, “At Winners Strength Wellbeing, you won’t hear us say the word ‘diet’. We don’t talk about ‘losing weight’ and we refuse to post fake filtered ‘selfies’.

“We’re going to be delivering the most incredible, uplifting courses for women to learn how to build strength from within. We will promote the fact that at any age you can become the strongest and most confident version of yourself and that women can really reach greatness.
“Our studios will be the hub for women to achieve their physical goals and to get advice from professionals on mental wellbeing.
“After all, it would be a shame for any woman never to experience the true strength and confidence that her mind and body can attain.”
